Did you know 4.0 – Convergence

New version of Did You Know video series. The previous one is already posted here.

In this new version, with the partnership of The Economist, the video brings again a lot of numbers and facts, this time about social media, changes in reading habits and the ways that we demand and consume information.

Some quite impressive facts presented in the video:

01:08 → 01:11 More video was uploaded to YouTube in the last 2 months than if ABC / NBC / CBS
01:11 → 01:15 had been airing new content 24/7/365 since 1948 (which was when ABC started broadcasting)

    01:16 → 01:19
10 million is the number of unique visitors ABC / NBC / CBS get every month, collectively
01:20 → 01:23 These businesses have been around for a combined 200 years
01:24 → 01:28 250 million is the number of unique visitors MySpace / YouTube / Facebook get every month, collectively
01:29 → 01:32 None of these sites existen 6 years ago.

And the video ends with a Raymond Kurzweil phrase:

03:49 → 03:54 The computer in your cell phone today is a million times cheaper and a thousand times more powerful
03:54 → 03:58 and about a hundred thousand times smaller (than the one computer at MIT in 1965)..
03:58 → 04:02 So what used to fit in a building now fits in your pocket
04:03 → 04:08 what fits in your pocket now will fit inside a blood cell in 25 years.

And you? What caught your attention?
